Moonlight Cinema

I picked up a couple of metallic tops in the ASOS 70% sale. I love this paisley turquoise shell top with beaded necklace and my marilyn Neuw jeans - I really can't stress enough how amazing these jeans are. Anyway, we headed to Chapel st for shopping, coffee at St Edmonds + pics on the iphone (great quality of 4s) than to the Royal Botanical Gardens for a moonlight cinema session. Its a fun and cheap way to get the girls together for a goss and snuggle.  We saw A Few Best Men, a laugh, but certainly not a must see - Have you seen The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo yet? Me & the Ladies, Grace, Elise & Saci (Connie on the camera)

Revelation in the light of day

Some stunning weather in Melbourne this week brought out the best for our outfit blogs. Paired with the arrival of some recent ASOS purchases, putting looks together has been fun. I love the idea of wearing the same colours together. I think it creates a really unified and elongating silhouette. In this case coral jeans paired back with a simple singlet in the same palette is not only complimenting to our fair Scottish skin, but a great base to show off accessories ~ Freshly delivered from Asos Saci Wears Cotton On Jeans and singlet / ASOS Heels / ASOS hair jewellery, necklaces, earrings, ring and bracelet / Vintage Purse from Savers

Young and proud

Australia Day celebrates the arrival of the first fleet into Sydney cove in 1788. This 26th day of January can otherwise be known by the indigenous Australians as Invasion Day, or Survival Day. To most of us it simply means a day off work and an excuse for a bbq. For me it has always hailed in summer - flips flops, bikinis, boardies and sunscreen. Today was no exception, topped only by the current epic tennis game between Nadal (heart goes here) and Federer at Australian open semi's. I snapped up some fireworks pics mid game. Happy Australia Day Go Nadal!!! Wearing Rada Priya Designs top / Topshop Skirt

If I were an Aquarian child

Playsuits are perfect for summer. I found this little cotton one at Tempt on the weekend. So comfortable. We were sitting around this lazy day and I got a little creative with some 60's inspired arm art

Brides Girls

Shopping with the bridal party this week was so much fun I could not be more happy designing and making dresses for these gorgeous bunch of girls. Here are some snaps from our fitting room. Lots of inspiration, but our final dress designs will be kept under tight wraps until the Big day this coming June  Claudia, Dani [Bride], Adriana & Isabella

Miss Tangerine

Everyday I'm inspired by the beautiful blogs and their even more beautiful authors. To say that they make my job easier as a fashion designer is an understatement. Watching and predicting trends in the real world is as simple as a click. These girls have their finger on the pulse of fashion, creating, and swelling existing trends, which they each put their own individual stamp on. And that's what makes it so exciting for me ~ I am often reassured on the broad scale that I can be creative as I desire and still have an audience.  I try to be as active as I can, especially with the blogs I read. So when the lovely Mariana of Miss Tangerine blog showed interest in my collection, I had to send her a piece. And I could not be more delighted with her most recent post. This Portuguese beauty rocks my Spring/Summer '11 Ariella skirt in the middle of her winter with so much finesse and sophistication... See more on Mariana's blog: Miss Tangerine / Buy the Ariella

Victoria Secret Florals

We took a few shots out the front of the house before heading to see the new version of Girl with a Dragon Tattoo. Easily one of the best films I have ever seen. I wish I had the vocabulary to explain a review, but I dont think it will give justice. I saw the original, and was entertained and intrigued, but the pumped up American version with the 007's Craig Daniel and the haunting Rooney Mara left me drowning in its mystery ~ in the best possible way. Those of you that know me, know that I am a cinema buff. I haven't been that impressed with a film since Batman Begins in 2005, and I went to see it 7 times! I saw Kill Bill 5 times for its cinematic genius. 7 years and countless films later, I have a new favourite. Highly recommended, but certainly not for the faint hearted - heavy stuff. Out of the trunk

Thankfully the heat has returned, because the last week has been painfully bipolar - especially the weekend. We had drinks at Trunk and the sun was out so we sat outside. The outdoor heater was literally being turned on and off every 10 minutes. Never the less, it was a great weekend.
