Russet, bronze & burgundy. Maroon, cadmium & copper. A hint of magenta & a blanket of black = the colours that inspire me for Autumn.  Here is a look at the Burgundy silk satin crop blouse and palazzo pant, which were spontaneously added - as in sewn - half an hour before this shot (originally styled with a high waist mini skirt) Blouse & Pant available soon at the Online store / Wittner platform Photographed by Saci

LMFF Special Designer Event

Thank You to the lovely ladies at Thread Den for showing some love to Rada Priya Designs in the last mail out. Most of you may already know, but for those that don't, Thread Den is a sewing lounge, a boutique, and a space for lovers of all things fashion. Once upon a time I taught Fashion Illustration in one of their beautiful vintage inspired rooms, and got to meet so many lovely students of all ages. Every year Thread Den takes part in the L'Oreal Fashion Festival , and this year they are holding a special Designer Market Event ~ Check out the site for details and bookings: Threadden.com A snap from one of my classes - Fashion Illustration 1. I loved teaching this class, and had so much fun with all my students :)

You can't choose what stays and what fades away

Has anyone else caught the online shopping virus? Actually, is there anyone who has not? This morning I woke up to yet another parcel from one of my favs - ASOS delivered with this River Island Neon strap satchel. Its the perfect size to fit the Canon camera + rest of my life. My sister says my over saturation of blog reading and online purchasing is effecting my sanity... in my defence, I am designing and sewing more than ever before ~ Cannot wait to share my A/W'12 collection :) Wearing H&M Cable Knit Cardi / Rada Priya s/s'11 Chiffon Tunic / Giordano Jeans / River Island Satchel

Cheyenne

This ones for you Hayley - Raw and unedited pics from our mini shoot today - featuring our gorgeous cousin Cheyenne, who is visiting for the weekend from Brisbane. For a on-the-spot throw together, we got some really cute shots. She is wearing samples from my soon-to-be-released A/W'12 Collection.

Coated up at New York Fashion Week

Another epic fashion week comes to a close. New York Fashion Week is always a highlight for me, and this season it was all about coats. Glorious, luxurious, intricate outwear that did nothing less than inspire. The humble coat is a piece of my closet puzzle that has always been overlooked. I blame this on my constant flitting around the world. It doesnt seem practical to lug a heavy coat around, when packing a bunch of knitwear that can be layered and interchanged to create new looks. With the current fall trend my mind has def been changed... see for yourself: Photos via NewYorkFashionWeek

No dawn, no day

Stuck in hours of darkness and suffering from "analysis paralysis". Did you know that the best way to stifle creativity is to try to be creative? Exhausted this week by the lead up and finally the success of St Kilda Festival last Sunday, I wanted stay in my PJ's and watch live streaming of the New York Fashion week shows. Unfortunately being your own boss means always being on call, and always being responsible. I had to keep on, keeping on. I did find some time for a late night hair cut, and snapped these pics right after. I'm wearing the jacket and skirt from my upcoming collection... speaking of, we have some fun little shoots planned for the coming weeks. And speaking of little shoots - I finally got an iphone (thank you twinnie) and now have instagram - which I love! feel free to follow: RadaPriya Jacket and Skirt from my upcoming A/W collection / Zara Knit / Wittner platforms

St Kilda Festival

A sea of people: an old wizard with a magic wand, a girl in a rainbow propeller cap, oversized poodles, pint sized woman, and ahoy! a pirate band featuring a motley crew of french bourgeois performers that belonged on deck with Captain Jack Sparrow!  Our very first St Kilda festival was as every bit as fun with a stall as every other year without one.  And we got to meet heaps of really cool people, have best seat in the house for all the music, and spread the love of our label. Here's a few snaps of the day... See the full album on facebook Rada wearing Sienna Wrap Dress $55 / Cotton Hat / Boots from Florence Market

Happy St Valentine's Day

One more time with feeling

Recovering today after a 17 hour stint at the St Kilda Festival was aided by the arrival of the newest member to our family - Kit Solley! Congratulations to my brother and his champion wife Amanda for their first born. Saci and I are feeling all loved up despite body aches that are temporarily disabling.  It was a successful day, shared with beautiful friends, and lots of new delightful and engaging faces. I plan to do a full post of the Festivities when I recover, so meanwhile here is Saci - rocking my Eller Tunic dress! Saci wears Eller Tunic Dress ( available here ) / Shoes and Hat from the Market / Cobolt bag - which one lucky lady nabbed at the end of the day for $40 - bargain!
